Balance

To keep a great balance while executing this defense, your feet should be a bit wider than your shoulder width. A wider foot stance helps you with stability and balance as you move laterally. In addition, you should evenly distribute your weight with the balls of your feet. This position keeps you light on your feet and allows you to move with ease and speed. Also, ensure to lower your body by bending your knees. This will improve your balance and make it difficult for an opponent to move past you.

Posture

For a good defense posture, you’ll need to keep your back a bit flexible but straight. This position gives you a clear vision of the location of both the ball and the offensive player.
